Burlington est célèbre pour ses chaussettes à losanges, directement inspirées du «tartan», emblème du clan Campbell, grande dynastie écossaise. Ce motif particulier se compose de fils noirs et blancs entrecroisés en suivant des lignes horizontales et verticales, afin de créer des carreaux sophistiqués. En les inclinant à 45°, ces carreaux se transforment en losanges, devenus depuis la marque de fabrique de Burlington.
